Being Far East Hotel is one of the few remaining big traditional hotels in Beijing, constructed in 1940.

The Far East Hotel was given 2-stars in 1992. Unlike other high-rises, the Far East Hotel is a typical Chinese Hotel providing a chance of harmony and coziness.

Opened in 1940, decorated in 2003. The reception staff can speak fluent English.

Location

The Beijing Far East Hotel is located in the center of the city. Outside the hotel lies a very common Beijing Hutong (lane) lined with all kinds of small privately own stores like groceries, CD stores, tailors, etc. 5-minutes walking along the lane to the north is the famous culture street - Liulichang Street.

Following the Liulichang Street to the east, one could easily find the Da Zha Lan area, once the most popular shopping area in Beijing, located next to the famous Tiananmen Square, the very center of the city center.
